Diners are advised to book early for this walk.
Just a few words sum-up the village of Kersey - peaceful, tranquil and mostly unchamged. Its beauty is as much due to the later as it is to its iconic and classic geographical layout. Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Bell Inn", Kersey. One of many routes from this pub but this one is undulating and varied giving some quite unexpected panoramic views near to the Brett Valley and Semer. returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 12.45pm.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A beautiful early autumn day - warm, dry with unbroken sunshine throughout the duration of the walk, very welcome after the unsettled weather of the past few days. I am grateful to all those who attended to support this walk. Thank you also to Alyson, David and staff for serving us all in record time with some very tasty food. I made it just about 15 minutes and pretty much everyone of the 22 diners was served with a meal. You have an excellent and very efficient system working at The Bell.

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Ramsholt Arms", public house, Ramsholt. Walk will include a very picturesque section overlooking the River Deben. Time permitting we hope to pause for refreshments at a pub en route before returning to "The Ramsholt Arms" for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1.30pm.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A very small group today owing to late cancellations and no shows!!! However, the weather was both warm and sunny - very warm for October. My thanks to the few that attended and also thanks to Patrick, Liz and staff for providing us with some really tasty food. I can especially reccommend The Sweet and Sour Chicken.

A SPECIAL WALK AT TWILIGHT FOR MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT

Meet and park 5pm at "The White Horse", public house, Tattingstone. You are advised to bring a torch for this walk as daylight will have faded into darkness towards the end. The first section by the water however will see the sun set. Cloud permitting, we hope for a colourful one! We return to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 7.45-8pm.

Update 11.10.2010.PLEASE NOTE: that some modification of the route in the interest of safety has been made resulting in a longer walk approximately 5.5-6miles in length


ALL WALK FEES RAISED ON THIS WALK WILL BE DONATED TO MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT. THE STANDARD WALK FEE IS £4 BUT FEEL FREE TO DONATE AS YOU THINK APPROPRIATE.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A big thank you to all 38 people who walked on the evening. A perfectly clear and dry autumn evening. Some really impressive after glow as the sun set across Alton Water. Thank you too to Caroline, Andy and very efficient staff at The White Horse, Tattingstone for serving nearly 30 people with some wholesome and very tasty food. If you were unable to take part on the evening, you can still make a donation to MCS by sending your cheque (made payable to Getting Out) to Getting Out, PO Box 133, Ipswich IP3 9NN. Please write "MCS walk, 16th October 2010" on the back of your cheque. Closing date for donations for this event is 30th November 2010.

Meet to pre-order food at "The Victoria", public house, Earl Soham. Parking is very limited at the pub, please park by the Green. Walk features meadows woodland sections and open countryside. returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1.15pm.

POST EVENT REVIEW - The rain cleared, leading to a dry morning with some sunny intervals later. A very good attendance for this most picturesque walk. Many thanks to Paul and staff at The Victoria for some excellent food

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Fox and Hounds", public house, Groton. Walking through grazing meadows, woodlands and in open countryside. We shall pause part way at "The White Horse", Edwardstone for refreshments before returning to the "Fox and Hounds" for lunch at approximately 1pm.

POST EVENT REVIEW - The weather was just perfect, warm, dry and sunny, complementing the very colourful autumnal show. Thank you to all who attended today and to Amy and Gavin at the White Horse, Edwardstone and of course to Stephen, partner and staff at the Fox and Hounds, Groton for serving us all so promptly with excellent food.
