POST EVENT REVIEW - A first staging of this event, which turned out to be a success even though National Express Rail's mysterious Pope-driven timetable for the Harwich to Manningtree line caused some minor issues. The weather made the day, lots of early autumn sunshine as we gently sailed down to Harwich. Seals spotted as we neared the river estuary. Many thanks to all who participated in making this a most enjoyable day out and my apologies for the later arrival back to Mistley due to NatEx's unannounced rail timetable. There will be a slide show for the event on the GO web site in due course.

Later we take in a short section by Alton water Reservoir. Returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 12.45pm.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A superb day for walking. A stiff breeze, providing a challenge for the sail-boarders at Alton Water but mostly bright and dry. Thanks to all who attended the event today. Thanks also to Rick, Jayne and staff at The Compasses Inn for some excellent food and good service.
