Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Oyster Inn", Butley. "GO" has not featured this route since January 2006. The walk includes open countryside, paths close to Rendlesham Forest, pretty grazing meadows and visiting the Butley River. Returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1.15pm. Pub post code is IP12 3NZ.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A very windy day, mostly cloudy but dry. The long dry spell goes on for East Anglia. Walk diverted to give a reduced mileage because of the dry conditions!!!! How strange is that? Many thanks to staff at the Oyster Inn, excellent food and drink. We will return at some point during 2010 no doubt.

Meet and park 9.55am (in lower car parking area) at "The Ship Inn", Levington (no need to pre-order food). Stunning views across the River Orwell with some pretty woodland sections. returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 12noon. Pub post code is IP10 0LQ.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Yet another dry, sunny and resonably warm day, around 17degreesC. Ground conditions firm, despite some overnight rain. Autumn colours, etc. Tide low. Many thanks to Mark and staff at The Ship for some really great food and refreshments.

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Chequers Inn", Great Blakenham. One of several "GO" routes from this pub. Some of the walk passes by the peaceful River Gipping and later through Shrubland Park. returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1pm. Pub post code is IP6 0LP.

A NEW ROUTE FOR GETTING OUT

PLEASE BOOK WITH THE CAFE (see advertisement on page 9 of the September/October brochure for contact details) AND FORWARD A £4 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT TO THE CAFE. THE TOTAL COST FOR THIS WALK INCLUDING WALK, TRAIN FARE TO MANNINGTREE AND TWO COURSE LUNCH IS £16.95. REGRETABLY BOOKING FOR THIS WALK CAN ONLY BE SECURED BY PAYMENT OF THE DEPOSIT AND SHOULD BE PAID BY 5th OCTOBER.

Meet 10.30am for a cup of coffee at "The Mistley Quay Cafe!, Mistley. Parking is either at Mistley Railway Station or on the street near the cafe. We board the 1109 service from Mistley to Manningtree, where the walk starts. A new route in pretty Constable Country. The walk will visit Flatford, including landmarks which featured in the painters' masterpieces. After a pause we return staying mostly by the River Stour to arrive at the cafe at approximately 1.15pm for a two course lunch.

YOU MUST GIVE A MINIMUM OF THREE DAYS NOTICE WHEN BOOKING FOR THIS WALK

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at the now newly-managed "Victoria", public house, Thurston. This pretty route takes in an interesting series of trails and tracks featuring meadows and attractive woodland, close to the quiet village of Pakenham. Returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 12.45pm. Pub post code is IP31 3QH.

PRE-EVENT REVIEW (13th October). Some of the woodland on this walk is currently exhibiting great autumn colours. A walk definitely not to be missed.

POST EVENT REVIEW - The persistent rain predicted to be with us during the morning, thankfully never really materialised. Apart from a little light rain, the walk took place largely in the dry. Many thanks to Dave and staff at The Victoria in Thurston - great food. We will be back!

Meet 10.10am to pre-order at "The Fox Inn", Newbourne. Non-diners please use the Newbourne Springs Nature Reserve car park. walk features stretches of meadow and woodland, with some undulating aspects too. The walk concludes by passing through the nature reserve, which is managed by Suffolk Wildlife Trust. returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1pm. Pub post code is IP12 4NY.

Try not to miss this beautiful autumn walk.
