EVENING WALK
WALK SCHEDULED ON A TUESDAY TO AVOID TRAFFIC CONGESTION FROM THE SUFFOLK SHOW
Meet and park 6.55pm to pre-order food at "The Brook Inn", Washbrook. It was 31st January 1998 when this walk was last featured in a "GO" brochure, Getting Out was just a few months old!
A good mix of open and undulating countryside on the rural outskirts of Ipswich. returning to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 8.45pm. Pub post code is IP8 3HR.

POST EVENT REVIEW - This walk was posted on a Tuesday to avoid Suffolk Show traffic congestion, unfortunately I forgot to check with the weatherman first! A wet start but it was neither heavy or persistent and we did arrive back at the pub with some late sunshine. Many thanks to all who participated and just one person cancelled because of the rain. Thanks as well to Gary, Anne and helpful staff. We really enjoyed our food and will return at some point during the future.

A BRAND NEW "GO" ROUTE

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Station Hotel", Framlingham. Another brand NEW route for "GO" and from a new host pub following the traditions of a certain pub in Earl Soham!!! A variety of undulating and pretty countryside by woodlands. Returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1pm. Pub post code is IP13 9EE. (NOTE this replaces post code IP15 5JE which is incorrect. Post code printed in "GO" brochure is also incorrect).

POST EVENT REVIEW - Wow! A beautiful day, virtually unbroken sunshine and very warm too. Thanks to all who attended this BRAND NEW route today for your support and thanks as well to Michael, Resa and staff at The Station Hotel for some very tasty food and excellent service - we will be back!

Meet and park (in the meadow please) 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Oyster Inn", Butley. A walk not included on any "GO" brochure since December 2004. Mixture of open countryside and stretches through woodland including the ancient woodland at Staverton Park. Returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1.15pm. Pub post code IP12 3NZ.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Weather was a bit cool for the start of this walk. Route passes by old Bentwaters airbase and Wantisden Church where we pasued. Thank you to the group that supported the event today. Impressed with both the quality and choices available on food menu at The Oyster Inn. Thanks to all the staff.

EVENING WALK
Meet and park 6.40pm to pre-order food at "The Cock Inn", Bramford. Another route from the "GO" archives - 18th July 2002 was the last time this walk was featured. A peaceful route by the River Gipping. Returning to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 8.30pm. Pub post code is IP8 4DT.

POST EVENT REVIEW - It was great to be walking by the Gipping again. A fabulous warm and sunny spell of weather. Witnessed the catching of a large fish, a Chub by Bushmans Bridge, Bramford. Thank you to all who attended this evening and thanks too to Bill and staff at the Bramford Cock.

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Fox Inn", Newbourne. If you are a non-diner, please park at the Newbourne Springs Nature Reserve car park close to the pub. this walk is perfect for a warm summer day. our route visits riverside located "Maybush Inn" at waldringfield where we shall pause for refreshments before continuing for a short distance by the Deben to the tiny hamlet of Hemley. Views across the river here are superb. Finally the route passes into grazing meadows and by a stream before returning to "The Fox Inn" for lunch and refreshments at approximately 12.45pm. Pub post code is IP12 4NY.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A very relaxed walk today, with just four and half miles and a stop at The Maybush in Waldringfield. A small but dedicated group enjoyed a mix of squally showers and sunshine. Good food deals at The Fox - two courses for £7.95. Thanks to Jeremy and staff for looking after us.

One of the most popular "GO" evening walks, which includes a very picturesque and peaceful section by the River Stour. Returning to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 9pm. Pub post code is IP9 2TG.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A balmy evening with near perfect conditions. Thanks to all who supported the walk this evening. Thanks as well to Bob, Chris and staff for some really good food and so promptly served upon our return.

A BRAND NEW "GO" ROUTE

Meet and park 10.00am at The Suffolk Punch Trust Visitor Centre, St David's Lane, Hollesley. Post code for the centre IP12 3JR.
Another brand NEW route for "GO". Arrangements will be made to pre-order our food with the host pub at Shottisham before the start of the walk. The day begins from the recently opened Suffolk Punch Trust Visitor Centre at Hollesley. The route includes some heath and forest sections as we journey to "The Sorrel Horse Inn", Shottisham arriving for lunch at approximately 12noon. After lunch at approximately 1.30pm we continue the walk back to the visitor centre at Hollesley. There will be many Suffolk Punch horses on site to view on this day. The Suffolk Punch Trust is dedicated to preserving and improving the Suffolk horse which today is an endangered breed. The new visitor centre is open to the public between 10am and 4pm daily (except Mondays) but seven days a week for July and August.

"GO" really hopes you will enjoy your visit here today. A special group rate has been negotiated for our visit. There will also be an opportunity for afternoon tea at the visitor centre upon our return.

The total cost for the walk and SPT visit is just £9 per person. Please send your cheque to "Getting Out", PO Box 133, Ipswich IP3 9NN by 19th June. Please do not send cash through the post but if you prefer to pay by cash, this can be done on any of the walks up to and including 19th June. Regretfully there can be no refund owing to cancellation.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Weather, dry and very warm but a pleasant cooling breeze making the whole day much more comfortable. Many Suffolks grazing out in the meadows with a couple of young foals. Day rounded off nicely with cakes and tea at the Visitor Centre. Thanks to all concerned for helping to make the day a successful one.
