Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Parrot and Punchbowl Inn", Aldringham. This walk includes open countryside, pretty heath and woodland sections along with a former railway. Returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1pm. Pub post code is IP16 4PY.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Once again, we were blessed with a dry and sunny walk today. Temperatures were (i guess) around 4 or 5 degrees but it did feel warmer in the gorgeous winter sunshine. A thoroughly enjoyable day walking in heath and woodland. Thank you to all who attended this walk and many thanks to Sheila and her enthusiastic staff at The Parrot and Punchbowl who served us all with smiles and very enjoyable food. We will be back!

POST EVENT REVIEW - This walk was very well attended. The day remained dry for the most part but ground had thawed making some areas of the route a bit muddy. Didn't spoil a thoroughly enjoyable walk on a winters' day. Thank you to Jacky and staff at the pub for serving good food at a very reasonable price.

Meet 9.45am for cofee and to pre-order food at "The Marlborough Head" Dedham. Parking will be limited at the pub but there is a large FREE car park close by. Another route from the "GO" archives. It is exactly 5 years ago since this walk was featured. An interesting mixture of undulating landscape on the Essex/Suffolk border with some of the best views across Dedham Vale. Today however, is special for a more important reason. Unfortunately, because of financial restraints, plans for a "GO" party have been shelved but this walk has been designated as the official presentation of money raised for Macmillan Cancer Support throughout 2009. It is important to acknowledge, it is you the participants of "GO" walks who have made that possible. I am deeply grateful to all who have supported Getting Out in helping to raise £1,420! A representative from Macmillan Cancer Support will of course be present to receive the cheque and explain how the charity assists those in need and how the money will be used. Following the walk, we shall return to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1pm. Pub post code is CO7 6DH.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Another great day for walking. Beautiful sunshine all the way with some great views across The Vale of Dedham. Some areas of the route were muddy but I don't think that spoiled the enjoyment. Many thanks to everyone who attended today BUT, It is an enormous shame that no MCS rep turned up to officially receive the donation from Getting Out. You clearly have some major communication issues within your organisation.
Thanks to Penny and staff at The Marlborough Head for your very efficient and friendly service. The food and drink were very good.

POST EVENT REVIEW
The weather stayed dry for almost the entire walk but some parts of the route were muddy. Despite the extra high tide, all areas of this walk were negotiable. Superb beds of Snowdrops at various locations throughout the route. Food and refreshmnets at the pub were good. Many thanks to Tracey and staff for making our stay with you an enjoyable one.
