Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Chequers", public house, Great Blakenham. A new route in February 2008, this walk illustrates well the picturesque Gipping Valley as well as some interesting tracks and bridle ways in the parishes of Claydon and Akenham. Returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1.15pm. Pub post code is IP6 0LP.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A very good attendance for this walk and the weather remained dry for us throughout. Thanks to all who participated today. Thank you as well to Dave and staff at The Chequers.

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Bell Inn", Kersey. this undulating route provides some fine views of Brett and Kersey Vales, a pretty riverside walk and a nature reserve. Returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 12.45pm.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Spring finally arrived this week and the warm spell has brought out the daffodils in there "hosts". A superb display is on offer by the River Brett, near the Babergh Council Offices. Even the cross-field paths were good on this route today. Thank you to all who supported the walk and many thanks to David, Alison and family at The Bell for a fabulous lunchtime.

THIS WALK REPLACES THE SCHEDULED WALK AT EASTON - KETTLEBURGH

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at the award-winning "Dog", public house, Grundisburgh. Route features a mixture of open countryside, woodland and meadows with excellent views across The Fynn Valley. Returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1.15pm. Pub post code is IP13 6TA.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A truly magnificent Spring day with unbroken sunshine and temperatures climbing into mid teens by lunchtime. Very pretty Spring flower scene at Playford Church and much to take in en route.... How wonderfully lifting is the English Spring! Our grateful thanks to James and staff at The Dog for serving all so efficiently with very tasty food.

There is no parking at the pub but there is a large Pay and Display car park (not expensive!) close to the railway station. Pre-order food at "The Anchor Inn", Woodbridge. Meeting 10.00am on platform 2, Woodbridge Railway Station to catch 10.07 service, arriving Westerfield at 10.18, where the walk will commence. One of "GO's" walking highlights, this superb day out features almost the entire Fynn Valley walk. We join the route at Tuddenham. From here the walk passes through many grazing meadows as we make our way back towards the market town of Woodbridge, pausing for refreshments at "The Admiral's Head" in Little Bealings. After a stop of around 30 minutes, we continue towards the River Deben, joining a footpath at Martlesham Creek, passing Kyson Point and finally meeting a section by the river back in Woodbridge and at "The Anchor Inn" for lunch and refreshments bewteen 2.00 and 2.15pm.

THE FULL COST OF THIS GREAT DAY OUT WITH GETTING OUT IS JUST £7 PER PERSON. THIS INCLUDES RAIL TRAVEL AND WALK FEE BUT IF YOU PAY AND BOOK BY 20th MARCH, THIS WILL BE REDUCED TO £6 PER PERSON. ALL PAYMENTS AFTER THIS DATE WILL BE FOR THE FULL PRICE OF £7. PAYMENT CAN BE MADE BY CASH OR CHEQUE (CHEQUES ONLY PLEASE IF POSTING, MADE PAYBALE TO "GETTING OUT"). POST EVENT REVIEW - An ideal walking temperature and unbroken sunshine throughout on this superb linear walk. Many thanks to all who supported the walk today and it was good to see some newcomers too along with a very well-behaved dog called "Bessie". Thanks too to Vernon and staff at "The Anchor" for some delicious and very welcome food and refreshments at the walks end.
