Post Event Review A very sunny and quite cold day but perfect for winter walking. Our new route, although a little muddy in places owing to recent heavy rain, provided some good distant vistas of Henley and parishes of Claydon and Akenham. The section around Akenham Church and Rise Hall being particularly picturesque. The pub provided us with a great choice of food, some good value Daily Specials - I can particularly recommend the Cottage Pie. Well done David and your staff, we shall return again on Saturday, March 22nd for yet another virgin route around the Gipping Valley.

SORRY, THIS WALK HAS BEEN POSTPONED AT 10.55AM, THURSDAY, 7th FEBRUARY DUE TO A LOW NUMBER OF CONFIRMED BOOKINGS.

Saturday, 9th February 2008 update....A rare occasion and a great shame the walk had to be postponed on what would have been a superb day! Another 9 people tried to book for this walk well after the 48hour deadline. I am very sorry to disappoint those and perhaps more importantly, walkers who had booked before Thursday but, I must emphasise the importance of booking a minimum of 48 hours before the scheduled start of any walk. As much as I do not like to disappoint customers, to be fair to all host pubs, a reasonable amount of notice one way or another must be given and arrangements have to be made for the walk to be checked a day or so before hand if it is to proceed. COULD I ASK EVERYONE PLEASE, BOOK EARLY TO AVOID A RISK OF FUTURE WALK POSTPONEMENTS.
