Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Cherry Tree", public house, Bromeswell. Some superb and unusual views of Woodbridge en route from across the River Deben at Ferry Cliff. Walk also passes the internationally famous burial site, now managed by The National Trust. Returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1pm. Pub post code IP12 2PU.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A much cooler day but the weather remained dry throughout. Great views from Ferry Cliff across the River Deben to Woodbridge. Thanks to Tracey and staff for excellent food at reasonable prices which was served with a smile and efficiently. We will be back!

A brand NEW evening walk for "GO", featuring a slightly wilder side of the peaceful and picturesque shoreline of the River Stour. We shall return to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 8.45pm. Pub post code is IP9 1BT.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO GROUP TRAVEL TICKET AVAILABLE FOR THIS EVENT AND ALL RAIL TRAVELLERS WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A TICKET FOR YOUR JOURNEY.

Another brand NEW route for "GO". Walk includes many interesting and beautiful aspects of the River Waveney and has been especially compiled to ultilise the rail link between London Liverpool Street and Lowestoft. "GO" encourages you to use rail travel for this special day. Most of the rail stations along the route have a car park if you need to travel by car to the station. Out train starts from London Liverpool Street at 7.38am, calling at Shenfield 0802, Chelmsford 0812, Witham 0821, Marks Tey 0829, Colchester 0838, (Manningtree 0834-passengers boarding here will have to change at Ipswich), Ipswich 0902, Westerfield 0909, Woodbridge 0919, Melton 0925, Wickham Market 0931, Saxmundham 0941, Darsham 0948, Halesworth 0957, Brampton 10.05, arriving Beccles at 10.13. Walk commences at 10.15am from Beccles Station. After pre-ordering our food at "The Bear and Bells" the walk continues by a church, then out into the countryside and later following the River Waveney from Geldeston. We shall stop for refreshments at the old "Geldeston Lock Inn". The route stays with the river back to Beccles, where we shall return at approximately 2.30pm for lunch.
Return rail depature options from Beccles to London L.S. are 1714, 1914, 2114 (last train).
TRAIN DEPARTURE TIMES HAVE BEEN UPDATED TO INCLUDE THE SUMMER TIMETABLE. PLEASE NOTE SOME TRAIN TIMES LISTED HERE MAY NOW VARY SLIGHTLY FROM THE PUBLISHED TIMES IN THE MAY/JUNE GETTING OUT BROCHURE (IN GREEN). THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO ENGINEERING WORKS SCHEDULED FOR THIS LINE ON 13th JUNE.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A most enjoyable day out in a part of East Anglia "GO" has never visited before. Weather was just perfect for walking. Thanks to the 18 that supported this event. My thanks to Lisa and staff at The Bear and Bells in Beccles for good quality food at a sensible price and prompt and friendly service. We will be back to see you at some stage in the future.
BUT and it's a very BIG BUT - shame on National Express Rail for cancelling at very short notice the 17.14 return service from Beccles upon which many of the group had hoped to travel. You successfully let some of your customers down AGAIN!!!
MY SINCERE APOLOGIES TO WALKERS WHOSE RETURN JOURNEY HOME WAS LONGER THAN NECESSARY, I HOPE THIS DIDN'T SPOIL THE DAY FOR YOU.

Meet 6.55pm to pre-order food at "The Anchor Inn", Woodbridge. there is no parking at the pub. Parking is FREE after 6pm in the large car park opposite the pub and by the swimming pool. Route includes parts of this picturesque market town and a beautiful stroll by the River Deben. Returning to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 8.30pm. Pub post code is IP12 1BX.

Meet and park 10.10am (no food pre-order) at "The Fountain", public house, Tuddenham St.Martin. A variation of existing routes in one of Suffolk's prettiest valleys. Undulating walk with great views across the River Fynn. returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1pm. Pub post code IP6 9BT.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A small group of 14 today enjoyed meadows and grazing pastures and the weather stayed dry for us..just! Splendid displays of Poppies and Orchids. Thanks to staff at The Fountain for the very tasty cuisine. We shall return.

Meet 6.55pm to pre-order food at "The Raven", public house, Henning Avenue, Ipswich, IP3 9QJ. Park at shops car park area. Picturesque NEW and undulating evening route embracing a famous landmark and Orwell Shore. returning to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 8.45pm.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A perfect summer evening for walking. The path closure near the bridge enforced by EDF didn't spoil the route. Thanks to all who attended this new walk and also to Becky and her polite and helpful crew at The Raven public house. We will be back.
