EVENING WALK
Meet and park 6.55pm to pre-order food at "The Raven", P.H., Henning Avenue, Ipswich. Limited spaces in the pub car park, please use parking area for shops. A new route for the summer of 2009 which unfortunately had to be modified owing to contractors work on power cables near the Orwell Bridge. This year we will be able to complete all of this pretty, undulating route, embracing a famous landmark and part of the Orwell Shore. returning to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 8.45pm. Pub post code is IP3 9QJ.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Another very warm, balmy evening. Great views across the river at low tide. Thanks to those who supported the walk and also to the staff at The Raven.

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Shipwreck", P.H., Shotley Marina. Some fabulous views across two of Suffolk's major rivers as this walk takes in both the Orwell and Stour estuaries. As in previous years, we shall pause at the peaceful and historic setting of Shotley Church. The theme for this years Flower Festival is "The Church Year". Which highlights the more obvious events like Christmas and Easter but a few other dates will be florally celebrated as well. As this is St.Thomas's Day maybe he will be remembered too, although I doubt it (sorry, blame Andrew)!! Returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1.15pm. POST EVENT REVIEW - A very warm day once again. The great British summer goes on. Some really superb flower arrangements at this great little church. Yummy cakes and Tim's awesome cheese straws made the visit a most enjoyable experience. Thanks to everyone for coming along and thanks also to staff at The Shipwreck for serving so efficiently with excellent food.

Another new route from last year, providing a slightly wilder side of the peaceful and wonderfully picturesque shoreline of the River Stour. Retunring to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 8.45pm. Post code for pub is IP9 1BT.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A beautiful evening along by the shore with the declining sun producing picturesque views on and across the water. Many thnaks to all who took part and thanks as well to Lesley and staff at the pub for very good food and excellent service.

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Case Is Altered", P.H., bentley, now under NEW MANAGEMENT. This walk was last featured on 13th September 2003! An interesting mixture of open countryside and very pretty woodland. returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1pm. Pub post code is IP9 2DW.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Heavy shower delayed our start for 5 minutes or so but the weather remained dry and warm throughout. Some sections of the walk between Capel and Bentley were a bit overgrown but certainly didn't spoil this pretty route. Thanks to all who supported this walk today and to Graham, Margaret and staff at the Case for some good food at very reasonable prices.

A BRAND NEW "GO" ROUTE

Meet and park 6.55pm at "The Poachers Pocket", Freehouse, Kelsale. A brand NEW route and NEW host pub for this superb, undulating, varied walk with pretty woodland areas. Returning to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 9pm. Pub post code is IP17 2QS (signed from A12).

WALK CANCELLED
Unfortunately, due to a small number of confirmed bookings, this walk has had to be cancelled. It is an immense disappointment to have to call-off a brand new route.

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The White Horse", P.H., Westleton. Limited parking at the pub but spaces by The Green (near duckpond)> A NEW route last year. This intensively wooded and heathland region of Suffolk offers very peaceful walking. We shall pause en route at Dunwich Beach for a spot of paddling and sun bathing (weather permitting of course). Returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 1.45pm. Post code for pub is IP17 3AH.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Weather dry and mostly sunny throughout with a very pleasant cooling breeze when paused for ice creams and a paddle on the beach at Dunwich. Thank you for your support walkers and thanks to Jenny, Rick and staff at the White Horse for their efficient serving of wholesome food.

Meet and park 6.55pm to pre-order food at "The Moon and Mushroom", Freehouse, Swilland. this route with open countryside and good views was last listed as a NEW walk during June 2008. Returning to the pub for food and refreshments at about 8.45pm. pub post code is IP6 9LR.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Many thanks to the footpath warden for Swilland and Witnesham, you have done a remarkable job on maintaining the rights of way in these parishes. Weather was just perfect for the evening - interesting skies and photographers light. Thanks as well to Nicki, Martin and staff at The Moon and Mushroom for the sumptuous food - many commented about the excellent Rabbit Pie.

Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at the now NEWLY MANAGED and refurbished "Crown Inn", Ufford. this route not featured in any "GO" brochure since May 2007 offers a mixture of open countryside and trails through meadows. Returning to the pub for lunch and refreshments at approximately 12.45pm. Post code for pub is IP13 6EL.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Unusually, light rain and drizzle featured on this walk today, with some route diversion required to avoid nettles and tall wet crops. Despite the rain, there was a good spirit amongst those attending. Thank you very much for braving the wet weather everybody and not a single cancellation. My thanks to Kelly and Sean at The Crown in Ufford for providing hearty meals and a warming coal fire upon our return to the pub. You most certainly will see us again. Good luck with the new business.
