Saturday, 11th February 2012, DEBEN VALLEY WALK, Start 9.50am, Distance 6.5miles CLOSING DATE FOR BOOKING AND TICKET PURCHASE IS SATURDAY 4th FEBRUARY. A COMBINED WALK/TRAIN TICKET COSTS JUST £7.50 AND IS AVAILABLE ONLY FROM GETTING OUT. Please use P & D car park at Woodbridge station. Pre-order food at The Anchor Inn, Woodbridge at 9am, meet 9.20am platform 1, Woodbridge railway station. Train departs 9.32, arriving 9.42 at Campsea Ashe where the walk begins. Quiet lanes, footpaths and meadow routes close to the River Deben on a mostly descending walk back to the town of Woodbridge and the pub, arriving for lunch and refreshments at approx.12.30pm. POST EVENT REVIEW - There hasn't been many snowy walks during GO's fifteen year history but this one, provided some magnificent pictures by the River Deben (slide show to be posted soon). The day started very cold but gloriously sunny after a severe night frost with thermomemter values falling to -10C, that's just 14deg F! Unusually but not surprisingly with temperatures as low as this, there was an abundance of ice in the river and some really special scenes looking across to the far shore at Sutton Hoo. Many thanks to all who supported the event and to Vernon and staff at the pub for food and refreshments.

Saturday, 25th February 2012, LITTLE GLEMHAM - MARLESFORD, Start 10.30am, Distance 5miles THIS IS A NEW GETTING OUT ROUTE PLEASE BOOK BY WEDNESDAY 22nd FEBRUARY Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at The Lion Inn, Freehouse, Little Glemham. A brand NEW route and NEW host pub. This walk features an interesting mixture of peaceful lanes, green tracks, woodland and some open countryside in a part of Suffolk not featured on Getting Out schedules before. Event includes a pause for refreshments at a farm shop. Returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1.15pm. Post code for the pub is IP13 0BA.
