Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Victoria", public house, Old Felixstowe. Route features some excellent views across the Deben Estuary and coastline, with a visit to the church at Falkenham. returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1pm.

POST EVENT REVIEW - The rain held off until 3.30 giving us a dry and mostly sunny walk. However, there is some possibly discrepancy over the route distance. We are sending staff out to "trundle" the mileage and findings will be reported here in due course. Thanks to Anita and staff at The Victoria for some great food.

EVENING WALK

A NEW ROUTE FOR GETTING OUT

Meet and park 6.40pm to pre-order food at "The Kings Head Inn", East Bergholt. the second NEW walk to feature Flatford as its focus. This route however stays on the Suffolk side of the Stour, providing some great views and of course a visit to The Mill and Willy Lotts cottage Cottage at Flatford, subjects of Constable's famous paintings. returning to the pub for food and refreshments at approximately 8.30pm. THIS IS "GO's" FINAL EVENING WALK FOR THE 2009 SEASON. Pub post code is CO7 6TL.

POST EVENT REVIEW - The final summer evening walk for 2009. A warm and sultry evening and the best attendance yet for any of the 2009 GO evening walks. Many thanks to all who have attended throughout 2009. It is planned to feature another series from late April to August in 2010.

A SPECIAL WALK IN AID OF MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT
Another great opportunity to support this charity. All today's walk fees will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. Please feel free to donate as appropriate. Diners should book as early as possible for this walk as dining spaces will be limited.
Meet and park 9.30am to pre-order food at "The Kings Head Inn", Orford. A large part of this route passes through woodland and along forest trails. Stopping part way for refreshments at "The Froize Inn", Chillesford. returning to the Orford pub at approximately 1.15pm. Pub post code is IP12 2LW.
ONCE AGAIN IT IS HOPED TO RAISE BETWEEN £150 and £200 TODAY TO ADD TO THE CURRENT TOTAL OF £953.00. IF YOU WISH TO MAKE A LARGER DONATION THAN THE USUAL £4 WALK FEE, THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A hot day at times with something of a cooler period at the end of the walk. Thanks to all who help support MCS. We raised £222.85 including (£46.85 from the sale of Jackie and Gerry's cakes - thankyou both for all the hard work and time taken to make such a tasty selection). The revised grand total now sits at £1175.85 - well done everyone! Thanks to Susan and staff at the Kings Head for excellent cuisine, served very promptly upon our return.

Meet 0830 outside Ipswich Railway Station. Departing on the 0842 service to Norwich. A full travel itinerary is listed below. there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beautiful, unspoilt scenery in this part of Norfolk. With 7miles of guided walks through woodland and heath at Kelling and along the North Norfolk coast. If you enjoy the nostalgia of travelling on a steam train, then you will not be disappointed as this package includes travel on the North Norfolk Railway between Sheringham and Holt. we also visit a fascinating little Tea Room at kelling which not only provides sumptuous tea, cakes and savouries but also an interesting assortment of paintings and collectables. Fianlly, we enjoy an evening neal at "The Windham Arms", Freehouse in Sheringham before leaving for home at 1930. PLEASE REMEMBER TO BOOK EARLY FOR THIS EVENT AS SPACES MAY BE LIMITED.

ITINERARY FOR THE DAY
Meet outside Ipswich railway station 0830
Depart 0842 on National Express rail service to Norwich
Change at Norwich to board 0945 National express rail service to Sheringham
Board 1115 NNR service at Sheringham for Holt
Depart 12noon NNR service at Holt for Sheringham
1212 leave this service at Weybourne Station.
After a brief rest, we embark on 2.5mile walk at 1230 to Kelling Tea Rooms arriving at around 1340.
LIGHT LUNCH UNTIL ABOUT 1500-1510.
Depart 1510 for a 4.5mile leisurely stroll through the cooling waters back to Sheringham, resting for swim or paddle part way. The tide will be low at 1538 today, making it easier on the feet as we walk along the shore.
At around 1730 we arrive at The Windham Arms in Sheringham for our evening meal.
At 1930 we leave the pub to catch 1948 National express rail service from Sheringham to Norwich.
Finally we catch 2100 National express rail service from Norwich to Ipswich, arriving at 2140.

PLEASE NOTE YOUR NATIONAL EXPRESS RAIL TICKET COVERS ONLY THE JOURNEY BETWEEN IPSWICH AND SHERINGHAM & RETURN. IF YOU WISH TO REMAIN ON THE TRAIN TO YOUR DESTINATION BEYOUND IPSWICH, APPROPRIATE TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A most enjoyable day out. Perfect walking weather and an opportunity to paddle. Thank you to the 21 walkers who supported this event and thank you as well to Peta and staff at The Windham Arms for the tasty food and drink - we will return at some point in the future. If the NNR/Network Rail link at Sheringham progresses, maybe a visit during February 2010 next year.

Saturday 29th August 2009, FLOWER FESTIVAL WALK-CROWFIELD - STONHAM ASPAL, Start 10.30am, Distance 5miles.
Meet and park 10.10am Crowfield Church (It may be helpful to lift share for this event as parking space is limited at the church - post code for church is IP6 9TG). We had a great time last year at this wonderful little church with some magnificent arrangements on show (see archives on this web site for slide show of the flower arrangements). the walk route offers open countryside with a few woodland sections pausing part way for refreshmnets at "The Ten Bells" in Stonham aspal. On our return to the church at around 1pm, we shall enjoy hot or/and cold food and view the florally decorated church. This year, the theme is "Creation on a Shoestring".

POST EVENT REVIEW - Once again, the people of Crowfield Parish provided a truly magnificent display of flowers. The bacon butties and cakes were very welcome too upon our return from the walk. Thanks to all who attended and a special thanks to those who had a part in making this a great day out.
