A NEW ROUTE FOR GETTING OUT
Meet and park 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Anchor Inn", Stratford St.Mary. This extensive second undulating new route for the Spring offers a mix of quiet lanes, tracks, open countryside and heathland with very impressive views close to the Brett Valley. returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1.30pm. Pub post code CO7 6LW.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A group of 30+ enjoyed both the walk and excellent food at the pub. Many thanks to Lisa and all her industrious staff for helping to make the lunchtime a successful one. The weather for today's walk was just perfect - dry, sunny and very warm with temperatures in the mid to high teens!

Meet and park at 10.10am to pre-order food at "The Lion Inn", Lamarsh. A fine undulating walk capturing all the best bits of the popular Stour Valley - grand views, woodland and a stroll by the river which gives the valley its name. Returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1pm. Pub post code CO8 5EP.

POST EVENT REVIEW - The five people that cancelled owing to locally wet weather, believe it or not, missed a totally dry walk today. It is worth remembering, if it is raining where you live, it might not be raining at the walk's location.
Woodland Bluebells were beginning to emerge, which is very encouraging for The Bluebell Day on 25th April. Many thanks to Brett and his staff at The Lion for some very tasty food and drink - we shall return!

£7.70 fee covers return rail fare and walk fees. Please forward cheques to "Getting Out", PO Box 133, Ipswich, IP3 9NN. Spaces for this walk will be restricted to 30 diners. Please note that the cafe will only be available to persons booking for this event through "Getting Out". FINAL BOOKING DATE 4th APRIL.
Meet and park 12.20pm at Mistley Railway Station. We catch 12.30pm service to Wrabness where the walk starts. Exceptionally pretty route featuring the Stour, Stour Wood and Copperas Wood. returning to Mistley on 3.12pm service, arriving 3.17pm. After changing footwear we walk to Mistley Quay Cafe for snacks. Cafe post code CO11 1HB.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A brilliantly sunny and dry day but with a cool wind. Excellent views across the River Stour and the woodland anemones were in full bloom. Bluebells also making an appearance. Thank you to Esther and staff for making our visit to the cafe an enjoyable one. Well done too to National Express Rail for sparing us any engineering works on this section of rail!!!

MORNING WALK
Park in meadow, meet 10.10am to pre-order food at "The White Horse", public house, Tattingstone. The route passes along a short section by Alton water reservoir, through Cutlers Wood (hopefully with Bluebells in bloom!) Returning to the pub for lunch at approximately 1.15pm. Pub post code IP9 2NU.

POST EVENT REVIEW - Another dry and sunny morning. There was a good display of Bluebells at various locations on this route. Thanks to Andy, Caroline and staff for supplying us with good food and refreshments.

Meet and park 6pm at Suffolk Food Hall, Wherstead. A fine walk overlooking the Orwell and hopefully featuring a great display of Bluebells. returning for our evening meal at approximately 8pm.

POST EVENT REVIEW - A perfect evening with some late sunshine. Ground conditions were dry. The Bluebells and Wild Garlic displays were just about perfect. Thanks to Oliver and staff at the SFH for efficiently coping with the catering arrangements for this event.
