A warm welcome to Getting Out online, offering guided walks for all the family in picturesque Suffolk and bordering countryside. A walking holiday in Cumbria is also an annual event.
Regular walking is an excellent way of maintaining a good level of fitness. Why not join the Getting Out group on a regular basis? Many have discovered that there is a friendly and very social aspect to the group as well. All are welcome including dogs on leads. Please remember to give us notice of your attendance. For most walks that is just three clear days but a few events may require more notice.
"GETTING OUT" is NOT a club, so there are no MEMBERSHIP FEES. You simply pay £4.00 per adult at the beginning of the walk. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Under 16's are free.
How often do the walks take place and where can I get the information?

Aldeburgh, Braintree (closed March 2010), Bury, Chelmsford (VIC), Colchester (VIC), Diss, Felixstowe, Flatford (re-opened as National Trust Visitor Centre, August 2010), Harwich, Ipswich, Lavenham, Lowestoft, Maldon, Newmarket, Snape (VIC), **Southend-on-Sea, Southwold, Stowmarket, Sudbury, Woodbridge, along with the Ipswich Museum, a few Post Offices in Suffolk and ALL libraries in the county of Suffolk.
Will the walk always go ahead, even when the weather is wet?
Sometimes yes. Providing the weather isn’t too extreme and there are enough confirmed bookings, then the walk will proceed as scheduled. If a walk is postponed it is mostly due to booking cancellations. A minimum of 12 confirmed bookings (15 for some walks) is required 72hours prior to the walk’s scheduled start.
